Postgraduate Program in Philosophy - UFMG
Minas Gerais Research Group on Kantian Philosophy
The research group is part of a long tradition of the Philosophy Department at UFMG about Kant's thinking.
It is especially dedicated to researching the contemporary developments of Kantian philosophy both in the domains of metaphysics and epistemology as well as ethics, philosophy of law, political philosophy and aesthetics, in a direct and philosophically productive dialogue with different currents of contemporary philosophy, from analytical tradition as well as from continental tradition. Group members participate in an international cooperation project, entitled Kant in South America (KANTINSA), aimed at developing original research on Kantian thought.
This project, with a duration of four years (2018-2021), approved by the H2020 public notice of the European Commission and with the support of FAPEMIG, involves a consortium between four European and four South American universities, including UFMG. The group also brings together researchers from several universities in Minas Gerais, such as UFLA (Universidade Federal de Lavras) and UFU (Universidade Federal de Uberlândia).
